We are seeking a full-time Upper School Visual Arts Teacher to join our robust and integrated visual arts program. The ideal candidate should be able to teach a variety of classes that may include Studio Art, Printmaking, Drawing and Painting, Textiles, Black and White Photography and Digital Photography. Ideally the candidate will have experience helping AP Art students create portfolios and prepare for the college admissions process. They will be able to differentiate between a wide range of proficiencies and support students where they are. The position is responsible for the safety procedures, maintenance, and management of an art studio and dark room. This position includes regular attention to Visual Art displays around the school. In addition to the core teaching responsibilities, Moses Brown teachers are expected to serve on committees, attend school meetings, and have yearly co-curricular responsibilities. All Upper School faculty are asked to lead an advisory in their second year at the school.

A desire to work in a team-based collaborative environment is essential. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with Upper students, faculty, and parents. The candidate will create curricular units to instill a love for creativity, exploration, and excitement for the arts.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution; high school or middle school teaching experience is preferred, although not a requirement for application. A Master’s degree or a teaching credential is desirable.
