
Upper School Sceince Teacher

The Brimmer and May School, a co-educational day school in Chestnut Hill, MA is seeking an experienced, collaborative full time Upper School Science teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The position includes teaching three sections of Chemistry and two electives in the Science Department as well as serving as an Upper School advisor. The ideal candidate will have a BA in Chemistry, Education, or a related field (Masters preferred), three+ years of experience, and a passion for working with students in and outside of the classroom. We seek an individual with a growth mindset who is proficient incorporating emerging technologies into their instruction, seeks to grow through professional development, has a willingness to support the mission of the school, provides student-centered learning opportunities, and has a collaborative spirit.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
-Plan and teach chemistry and science electives in the Upper School
-Work collaboratively with the Science department
-Serve as an advisor to students in the Upper School
-Supervise two study halls a week as well as break and lunch once a week
-Work with students outside of classroom time as needed
-Help foster a positive working and educational environment for students and colleagues and support the school’s mission, vision, and values
General Responsibilities:

-Adherence to all personal policies, procedures, and rules contained in the Brimmer and May Faculty and Staff Handbooks
This position reports to the Science Department Chair and the Head of Upper School.
Qualifications: BS in biology, chemistry, environmental science, science education, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 3-5 years experience teaching at the upper school level
