Beaver Country Day School—an independent day school located just outside of Boston, serving grades 6-12—seeks a creative, innovative, and forward-thinking Upper School Math Teacher. This is a full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year that will report directly to the Head of the Math Department and the Director of the Upper School.

About the Position:

Beaver Country Day School seeks an Upper School Math Teacher for our full range of courses in grades 9-12 that include calculus, precalculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, and integrated mathematics courses.

Responsibilities:  

• Teach US math courses and math-themed Mini Studios, and collaborate within the Department to further develop the math program including innovative curriculum, project-based learning, assessment practices, and other math support for students as needed.
• Create, co-create, or collaborate on and run or help run a two-week transdisciplinary and experiential intersession class that is aligned with our BVR Priorities and rooted in the New Basics
• Collaborate and plan with colleagues within course teams, the math department, and in other departments
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction and student learning
• Post resources, feedback, and assignments to the LMS in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and parents/guardians
• Provide frequent, constructive, objective, and prompt feedback to students
• Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community
• Actively participate in professional learning opportunities
• Remain knowledgeable of current instructional and curriculum trends
• Seek and constructively use professional feedback
• Model organization and preparation to meet all professional responsibilities reliably
