
Upper School English Teacher
Maimonides School, Brookline, MA
Maimonides School, a K-12 Orthodox Jewish day school in Brookline, MA, is seeking an experienced candidate for a full-time teaching position in Upper School English for the 2023-24 academic year.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in English or a related field; have a minimum of five years’ teaching experience; be able to teach courses in grades 9 through 12 while developing a range of students as critical readers, thinkers, and writers; and be able to offer a variety of senior electives. Preference given to candidates with an interest in collaborating with colleagues in humanities fields across our academic program.
The employee is required to sit, talk, hear, and visually interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors. Daily desk work includes telephone and computer time; both close and distance vision is required. Frequent walking both inside and outdoors throughout campus; navigation of stairs as a part of daily routines; and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. when necessary.
