Oak Meadow School seeks a highly motivated and energetic person to be a lead teacher in our Beginner’s Program (ages 15 months – 3 years). We are seeking an experienced teacher with a particular passion for working with the youngest children in our community. Applicants should have a Montessori Infant-Toddler credential from an accredited training center and consistently use current Montessori research and data to institute best classroom practices. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a classroom assistant, communicate confidently with parents, both verbally and in writing, and have strong organizational skills that allow for the structure and routine young children need. The candidate will offer flexible thinking, curiosity, and creativity as part of a larger teaching team that strategizes and explores the implementation of core Montessori principles. 

We are especially looking for candidates with the following qualities: 

  • Team player who is willing to ask questions and work collaboratively 
  • Eagerness to learn and deepen one’s own capacities in the Montessori method and 21st-century teaching practices 
  • Skilled in establishing positive relationships with the children, parents, and colleagues 
  • Excels in communicating with parents, both verbally and in written form 
  • Has the ability to create a warm and welcoming prepared environment that is safe and nurturing 
  • Meets the individual needs of multi-age learners with a range of learning styles ● Has a commitment to supporting the school’s mission QUALIFICATIONS: 
    • BA/BS degree required 
    • Minimum of three years of teaching experience 
    • A strong foundation in and understanding of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy 
    • Interest in current educational research about innovation and social-emotional learning 
    • Commitment to guiding children in the discovery of their own unique talents and potential ● Commitment to professional growth and continuing education 
    • Montessori infant/toddler certification is preferred (training is available for a qualified candidate: A commitment to Montessori certification/training is required as part of the role)
