Teaching Fellow Visual Arts

Faculty / Full-Time

Chapel Hill – Chauncy Hall School, Waltham, MA

The Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School is seeking a creative, progressively minded, and hard-working individual to participate in the CH-CH Teaching Fellows program.  As a school dedicated to Multiple Intelligences philosophy, we seek an aspiring Visual Arts teacher who wants to develop his/her ability to reach all learners and believes, as we do, that it is not “how smart you are” but rather “how you are smart.”  Working closely with an experienced faculty member, their department chair, and our Dean of Faculty, this Fellow will observe and teach a class section, meet weekly with the Dean of Faculty for on-going professional development, participate in the residential life program as a houseparent, and work with students in our co-curricular program.  Through this immersion in and reflection on independent school life, CH-CH Teaching Fellows will grow as both teachers and learners and emerge from the program ready to take on full roles as educators in the years to come.

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • A creative and progressive mind-set
  • Willingness to work hard and have fun
  • An academic background, preferably a major, in visual arts
  • Experience working with children, preferably adolescents
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to our co-curricular program
