Position Summary

Nobles seeks a math teaching fellow for a one-year position. No prior teaching experience is required to be considered for this position, but a strong background in math and demonstrated interest in the field of education and working with young people are essential. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic department whose members are passionate about teaching math, working collaboratively, and developing positive student-teacher relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach at least two sections of math in the upper school (grades 9–12)
  • Attend faculty, department, and course team meetings
  • Commit to ongoing growth in classroom practice and curricular development
  • Contribute to school life in at least one non-academic area (e.g., athletics, community service, admission, or performing arts)
  • Attend all-school morning assemblies
  • Supervise one study hall per seven-day cycle
  • Complete two chaperone duties per year
  • Participate in one to two admission events per year
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in math or a related field is required
  • An interest in teaching at the secondary level
  • A demonstrated interest in working with young people
