Summary

Nashoba Brooks School seeks candidates for the full-time teaching assistant for the 2022-2023 academic year to teach middle school students in Grades 4-8. The successful candidate will possess the desire to work in a dynamic, student-centered school committed to continuous learning and excellence in 21st century education. A teacher at Nashoba Brooks models the mission of the School to create a student-centered, mission-driven learning environment for students.

Responsibilities

Nashoba Brooks School assistant teachers:

  • Partner with lead teachers to support classroom instruction.
  • Potential to lead teach (plan and facilitate) a section of humanities or reading, as dictated by the School’s programmatic needs and candidate’s background experience.
  • Support students in transitions throughout the academic day. 
  • Provide supervision for students during lunch, recess, and activities.
  • Facilitate or assist with more than one student activity or program.

Qualifications

  • B.A. degree required.
  • Experience working with students in Grades 4-8.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate directly, effectively, respectfully, and constructively with people of all ages.
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning at both the individual and institutional level, including the ability to receive and grow from constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to working with diverse populations.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues.
