Wellan Montessori School, Newton, MA
Wellan Montessori School is seeking experienced educators to support both our regular school day and after-school programs in a part-time capacity. Positions are available immediately in our Beginner (ages 15 months – 3 years), Primary (ages 3 – 6), and Elementary (ages 6 – 12) programs with the potential for highly flexible schedules Monday through Friday between 7:30 am – 6:00 pm depending on candidate availability. Responsibilities include: planning age-appropriate curriculum and activities, maintaining classroom spaces, and implementing strict health and safety protocols. These teachers must excel at taking shared responsibility for creating and maintaining an orderly, safe, and appropriately challenging learning environment for children.
Successful candidates will be patient, well organized, flexible, professional, and dependable; have strong classroom management skills; have strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to function in a cooperative teaching environment; and be able to collaborate with other educators in our community to create an environment where children learn, socialize, explore, and grow together. Experience working in a Montessori classroom is strongly preferred.
- Part-Time: flexible schedules available Monday through Friday between 7:30 am – 6:00 pm for a total of 5 – 20+ hours per week.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.
- Experience working with children required.
- Experience working in a Montessori environment is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
