
Summer Specialist Teachers (Art, Music, Phys Ed, and STEAM)

Position Overview:
Wellan Montessori School is seeking passionate summer staff to join our 2025 Summer Specialist team.We are looking for Specialists to lead classes in visual arts, music, physical education, and STEAM. This is a full-time, hourly position beginning on June 23, 2025 and concluding on August 15, 2025. There is also mandatory Orientation the week of June 16 – June 20. We ask that our summer team members commit to at least three full weeks of the program.
Responsibilities include: planning and overseeing age-appropriate classes for students in their area of expertise focusing on a weekly theme. Supporting lunch and recess coverages as needed.
Successful candidates will be patient, well-organized, flexible, professional, and dependable; be able to function in a cooperative teaching environment; and be able to collaborate with other educators in our community to create an environment where children play, socialize, explore, and grow together.
Position Details:
- Full-Time Seasonal: 40 hours per week for duration of position
- Regular Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm with flexibility
- Minimum commitment of three full weeks of the program
- Hourly rate starting at $23 an hour
- Six Week Bonus: Staff that work 6 or more weeks at Wellan’s Summer Program will receive a $250 bonus.
Job Requirements:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience working with young children.
- Experience planning structured summer activities in an area of expertise.
- Letter of interest/cover letter, resume, and at least two references are required to be considered for this position.
