POSITION AVAILABLE: SUMMER PROGRAM TEACHER

Kingsley Montessori School is a toddler through sixth grade independent school of 313 students in Boston’s historic Back Bay. DESCRIPTION and REQUIREMENTS:

Kingsley seeks enthusiastic educators from all backgrounds to lead Kingsley’s “Summer in the City” program. The Summer Program Teacher will share responsibility for creating enriching and rewarding student experiences and for developing strong relationships with parents and colleagues. All teachers attend regular meetings and share responsibilities with other faculty in curriculum management, schedules, student needs, and the program environment. We actively seek candidates who will reflect and enhance the racial, cultural, and gender diversity of our school community. Summer Program Teachers report to the Director of Auxiliary Programs. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Actively participate and contribute to all pre-summer training and professional development 
  • Develop and deliver lessons and programming that align with “Summer in the City” curriculum and pedagogy
  • Prepare and facilitate community-building activities to ensure inclusive group development
  • Responsible for safe and prompt arrival/departure to/from field trip and off-site locations
  • Deliver clear and concise course expectations, activities, and safety instructions to all participants
  • Maintain supervision at all times to ensure emotional and physical safety
  • Responsible for daily program setup and cleanup, attending program briefs and debriefs, and maintaining care for Kingsley’s resources and supplies
  • Communicate clearly with fellow teachers, administrative staff, and school staff as needed
  • Foster a safe and fun learning environment

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum age of 18 and one year college experience 
  • Prior experience in education or with children, with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments
  • Candidates with experience working in camps are encouraged to apply!
