Substitute Teachers (all disciplines)

Worcester Academy seeks applicants for the position of Substitute Teacher in our Middle and Upper Schools. The Substitute Teacher will be hired on a daily basis as needed to help to maintain an organized, efficient, and productive work environment for our students in the absence of their regular teacher(s). We seek candidates who are eager to engage students with patience, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor.
This position will pay a competitive daily rate.
Foreseeable needs exist in the following disciplines for long-term substitutes too: Visual Art, English, History, Mandarin, Math, and Science.
- Support the academic program by covering classes in a teacher’s absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Heads of Middle and Upper School or the Associate Head of School.
- Help students transition and move from one activity to another.
- Supervise lunch or recess as needed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Teaching in an independent school preferred
