Substitute Teacher

We are seeking qualified substitute teachers for the lower school division—pre-kindergarten to grade five—and middle school division—grades six, seven, and eight. Substitutes will have an opportunity to work in a variety of well-resourced classrooms with inspiring and dedicated teachers and administrators. This is a part-time, variable hour role on an on-call basis. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support excellent teaching. 
• Provide a safe, calm, organized classroom environment. 
• Implement and/or prepare effective lesson plans. 
• Provide coverage for teacher duties (lunch, recess, etc.)
• Communicate effectively with classroom teachers and division head.
• Manage time and schedule for classroom.
• Help support and maintain continuity for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Degree or coursework in education preferred.
• Experience working with children in a school setting.
