Responsibilities:

• Create, deliver, and record a cohesive, well planned and articulated program
• Provide substitute lesson plans as needed
• Substitute for absent colleagues when available/as needed
• Communicate with advisors/parents regarding student concerns
• Set and achieve professional development goals with Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs
• Submit student reports within deadlines, enter grades in PS within deadlines
• Assist with duties as assigned by the administration including homeroom, study halls, lunch/recess, dismissal, advising, etc.
• Keep classroom and all language materials orderly and safe
• Respond in a timely way to voice-mail, email, and mail
• Ready your room for summer admissions season within one week of the close of the current school year
• Other duties as may be assigned

Responsibilities as Spanish Teacher:

• Teach Spanish in Grades K – 2, one semester for Grade 3
• Meet weekly/biweekly with the World Language Department Chair

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Develop and maintain proficiency in computer skills including PowerSchool, Google, Word documents
• Effectively communicate orally and in writing
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
• Be creative and energetic
• Maintain healthy and appropriate boundaries with minor students
• Maintain confidentiality
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, stoop, bend, and move throughout the room and campus
• Pass a state and federal background check
