Part-Time Spanish Teacher
2021-2022 School Year 


Oak Meadow School seeks a Part-Time Spanish Teacher for the 2021-22 school year. Oak Meadow is looking for an individual who will enrich our students’ Spanish language learning in five classrooms from Children’s House through Lower Elementary. The teacher will work closely with the Spanish Program Coordinator to ensure continuity of the spiraling Spanish curriculum with a strong Montessori focus. This position will be approximately 15 hours a week including classroom time, prep time, and lunch and recess coverage. This position will involve a strong sense of collaboration and cooperation with all areas of the school, with the following primary responsibilities:


  • Demonstrated experience and skills working with children to provide excellent Spanish education (preferably in a Montessori setting) 
  • Work closely with Spanish program coordinator to ensure curriculum coordination, implementation and continuity of Spanish program with a Montessori focus
  • Implement Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice in the curriculum
  • Provide written assessments and evaluations
  • Engage students by incorporating movement, use of manipulatives, authentic literature, poetry, dance and songs, interactive games, speaking 
  • Excellent classroom management skills with proven experience
  • Conduct 75-90% of the class in Spanish 
  • Establish collaborative relationships with colleagues, including but not limited to: Spanish Program Coordinator, Head of School, Children’s House – Lower Elementary teachers and assistants, Education Director, and Learning Specialists
  • Lunch and recess coverage as needed

  • Native or near native fluency in Spanish
  • Strong grasp of Spanish grammar
  • Strong cultural understanding of the Spanish speaking world
  • Commitment to DEIJ and its continuous implementation in the curriculum
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Ability to be flexible and work closely with others in a collaborative setting
