Primary Teacher Aide

Wellan Montessori School is seeking a passionate educator to provide focused student support in our Primary program (ages 3 – 6). This position is available immediately on a part-time schedule Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, with the option to pursue a full-time schedule depending on candidate interest. The Teacher Aide provides individualized student support while working closely with co-teachers to ensure that classroom standards are met consistently. The Teacher Aide must excel at taking shared responsibility for creating and maintaining an orderly, safe, and appropriately challenging learning environment for children. Additional responsibilities may include: facilitating student lessons and activities, communicating with families, and implementing strict health and safety protocols.
Successful candidates will be patient, well organized, flexible, professional, and dependable; have strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to function in a cooperative teaching environment; and be able to collaborate with other educators in our community to create an environment where children learn, socialize, explore, and grow together. Experience working in a Montessori classroom is a plus.
- Flexible Schedules Available: minimum of 20 hours per week Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, with the option to pursue a full-time schedule.
- Rate: $20/hr.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.
- Experience working with young children required.
- Experience working in a Montessori environment is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A letter of interest/cover letter, resume, and at least two references are required to be considered for this position.
