Preschool Teacher’s Aide

Mount Alvernia Academy, a Catholic, Franciscan, coed school from Preschool to Grade 6, is seeking a full and part-time creative and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher’s Aide for the 2024-2025 school year. Experience working with young children and a solid knowledge of early childhood development is recommended.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Monitor students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom, playground, etc.) to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
– Help to maintain classroom and equipment to provide a safe and clean learning environment.
– Assist in preparing instructional materials for daily learning activities.

– Engage students in planned small group activities to support development and learning objectives.
– Support a coordinated behavior management system in favor of excellent behavior management, and practice current social and emotional support techniques daily.

Regular attendance is a necessary function. Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for the supervision and instruction of the students. While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and/or crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, and may be required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
