Brimmer and May School, an independent PK–12 school in Chestnut Hill, MA, is looking for a collaborative, creative, and student-centered Pre-Kindergarten Teacher. The Pre-K teacher fosters curiosity, confidence, and joy in learning while supporting the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of 4- and 5-year-olds. Working closely with the Lower School leadership and specialists, the teacher develops a developmentally appropriate program based on inquiry, play, and strong relationships with students and families. The candidate should create student-centered learning experiences, aim to implement a culturally responsive curriculum, teaching methods aligned with the School’s DEI goals and initiatives, and demonstrate a collaborative spirit. A commitment to professional growth and a dedication to advancing the school’s mission are essential.

Key Responsibilities
· Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that supports students’ social-emotional growth and sense of belonging.
· Design and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences that integrate early literacy (Fundations), numeracy (Bridges), science, social studies, social-emotional learning, and anti-bias curricula.
· Use play, storytelling, exploration, and project-based learning to foster curiosity and creativity.
· Work collaboratively with Lower School leadership team and colleagues to support an integrated and differentiated program and to develop, refine, and document the curriculum and its comprehensive scope and sequence.
· Observe and assess student development and communicate progress through reports, conferences, and ongoing family communication.
· Partner with learning specialists, counselors, and school leaders to support the needs of all learners.
· Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning, and community events, and contribute positively to school life.
· Attend weekly faculty meetings, committee meetings, admissions events, and community events and cover lunch, recess, and other routine duties
· Participate fully in the School’s new faculty mentor program
· Engage in a program of continued professional growth and development, including the school’s strategic priorities.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
· Experience teaching Pre-K or early childhood students
· Strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
· Commitment to student-centered and inclusive teaching practices
