Groton School’s Visual Arts Department is seeking an interim Photography Teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year (September 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024).

The role will cover teaching duties for the school’s full-time Photography Teacher who will be on sabbatical for the year.

Job Description

While collaborating with other members of the Visual Arts department, the interim Photography Teacher will instruct tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students in:

• both analog and digital photography
• the skills of shooting, developing, and printing analog photos using black and white film
• digital photography, including instruction in the use of Adobe Photoshop and digital printing
• Photo Workshop – an advanced course for students who wish to continue photographing at a more advanced level

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of both analog and digital photography with some experience teaching at the secondary school level.
