Position Summary:

This position works with both the Director of Human Resources and the CFO and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of the School’s payroll and administering benefit programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and established school policies. The candidate may also perform a variety of HR-related duties.



  • Coordinate and process semi-monthly payroll via online payroll provider system
  • Resolve any payroll questions/conflicts in conjunction with other HR team members
  • Ensure timely remittance of all 403b contributions and applicable match as well as HSA and FSA funding/remittances
  • Organize and manage the HRIS system within the payroll database including data entry, data integrity, queries, and reports 
  • Complete various federal, state, and local government documents as well as job verifications, EEO reporting, etc. 
  • Coordinate and complete HR/Business office departmental mailings
  • Organize and process CORIs, SORIs, and tracking of fingerprinting results
    • Work with Director to create and distribute annual appointment letters to faculty 
    • Handle data entry and auditing of employee records including new hires, employee transfers, employee status changes (payroll and/or benefit), terminations
  • Ensures electronic and paper personnel records are accurate and in compliance with organizational policies and legal guidelines


  • Support the day-to-day benefits administration of health, dental, life & disability insurance plans, spending accounts, and 403(b) retirement savings plan. This includes the processing of enrollments/terminations/status changes, leave of absence administration, and filing of disability claims
  • Act as a resource for employees concerning benefit questions
  • Reconcile monthly benefit statements and process & review monthly vendor invoices 
  • Work with Broker to administer COBRA including all communication as well as tracking of payments 
  • Collaborate with HR team members on the annual benefits open enrollment including employee communication, meetings with vendors and brokers, and participate in all open enrollment activities
  • Maintain all employee benefit records as required while ensuring compliance with requirements under Federal and State Regulations such as HIPAA and FMLA


  • Bachelor’s Degree with prior payroll and benefit administration experience 
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and excellent follow-up skills essential;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task with minimal direct supervision;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills required;
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite 
  • Familiarity with accounting, database spreadsheets, and payroll software systems; experience in Paylocity is a bonus
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
