Touchstone seeks a Preschool and School Support Assistant for the 2026-27 school year. This individual is warm, flexible, organized, and enjoys working with children of different ages. The Associate plays an important role in supporting students, teachers, and families throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include supervising the Early Bird program from 7:30-8:15 a.m., supporting the Preschool classroom from 8:15-10:00 a.m., assisting in the school office from 10:00-11:00 a.m., providing Preschool coverage from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and supporting lunch and recess supervision from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Touchstone Community School is a co-educational independent day school that enrolls approximately 75 students, ages 2.9 through 8th grade. It is located in Grafton, MA, with a five-acre island campus in Upton. Touchstone offers a progressive, hands-on environment, where a natural pace of development is respected and play, community, integrated curriculum, and social justice activism are emphasized.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, or related setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and families
  • Commitment to anti-bias, anti-racist, and anti-homophobic education
  • Appreciation for the developmental needs of young children
  • Experience in or understanding of progressive education
  • Commitment to anti-bias, anti-racist, and anti-homophobic education

This role will be a 27.5 hour position per week and pay between $18 and $23 per hour.
