Part-Time Math Teacher – Immediate Opening

Walnut Hill School for the Arts has an immediate opening for a part-time Math Teacher to teach 2 classes (Calculus & Algebra 2) in the second semester from February 2, 2026 through the week of June 8, 2026.
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; department and other meetings are held at various times during the week and participation is encouraged
Compensation: $17,000.00 for the Semester

Responsibilities Include:

Teach two (2) sections in the Math department including one (1) section of Calculus, and one (1) section of Algebra 2; utilize best practices in teaching within this academic discipline; implement existing curriculum and lessons and modify as needed for each learner using established school practices; teach, lead, and guide students and promote an open and safe classroom space;

Foster a skills-centered, student-centered learning environment;

Utilize technology and other educational tools to support student learning;

Maintain student records including grades, comments, attendance, and progress reports, etc. using appropriate systems;

Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues, including holding in-person or virtual meetings and family-teacher conferences with parents during Family Weekend.
Collaboration & Community Engagement:

As appropriate and in consultation with your supervisor, attend and participate in department meetings, faculty meetings, team-building exercises, and trainings, etc.;

Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments to foster a positive working and educational environment that supports the School’s mission, vision, and core values; and
-
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
2+ years teaching or equivalent experience; experience working with high school students a plus;

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required, Master’s degree recommended;

Wide repertoire of teaching skills that suits a variety of learning styles;

Comfort with technology and willingness to adopt new technologies as needed;

Innovative teaching practices and a focus on student-centered learning;

Strong collaboration and team-oriented working and leadership skills;

Possess cultural competence in working with diverse populations; demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive community;
