We are seeking an experienced reading teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to plan and teach two sections of third grade reading and one section of second grade reading. The successful candidate will work with grade level teams to implement a curriculum that meets the needs of individual learners and honors the developmental pace of children. This is a part time position from 8:00-11:30 daily.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and teach 2 sections of Grade 3 reading and 1 section of Grade 2 reading
• Communicate with parents about concepts covered and student progress
• Work collaboratively with early childhood teachers to plan and implement curriculum and to share information about students

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to community, equity, and inclusion in instructional practice and pedagogical approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Enthusiasm for working with early elementary students
• Excellent classroom management, including communicating and maintaining course expectations and behavioral boundaries
• Attention to detail and impeccable follow-through
• Demonstrated understanding and implementation of current educational technology
• Applicants should have training and experience teaching a systematic multisensory reading program such as Orton-Gillingham or Wilson
• Experience teaching students with language-based learning disabilities
• Knowledgeable about strategies for supporting executive functioning, attention, and other processes of learning
