On-Call Substitute Teacher (Part-time)

Dana Hall School seeks candidates for the position of On-Call Substitute Teacher (Part-time).
The individual in this position will be accountable for:
• following a teacher’s lesson plan in the event of a planned absence
• overseeing classroom activity, providing support and assistance for students, and ensuring a positive learning environment
• working with faculty and staff to support classes and student programming in the absence of a faculty member
Candidates should have a college degree and prior experience working with students in a teaching or supervisory capacity. Other requirements include excellent communication skills, an ability to multi-task and maintain details, in addition to the flexibility to manage multiple and, at times, competing priorities.
Ideal candidates will have relevant classroom experience and an interest in independent school education.
Though long-term coverage needs may arise, the usual commitment is for full or partial days, one or two days at a time. This is a per diem or hourly, part-time position reporting to the division directors. Days and hours will vary.
