Learning Prep School in West Newton, MA is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Occupational Therapist to cover a maternity leave within our collaborative and highly respected OT department. We are looking for a licensed Occupational Therapist with school-based or pediatric experience (pre-teen and teen preferred) who can step into a supportive, team-oriented environment and begin as soon as possible to ensure continuity of services for our students. This position would continue through mid-May.

Compensation: $325 per day

In this role, the Occupational Therapist will provide direct therapy services and consultation in accordance with students’ IEPs. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, selecting appropriate assessment tools, compiling written evaluation reports, maintaining daily therapy logs, and developing targeted intervention plans. The OT will collaborate closely with teachers, related service providers, and families to implement accommodations across environments, participate in IEP meetings, monitor student progress, and maintain clear, timely documentation. Strong communication skills, organization, and a proactive, student-centered approach are essential.

Learning Prep School is an innovative and unique non-profit school for students with significant and diverse language and learning challenges. Our students face a broad range of learning disabilities, including language-based, nonverbal and executive functioning difficulties. This position works Monday-Friday 7:30am to 3:15pm, with after-school meetings on Wednesdays until 4pm. (A Monday – Thursday schedule is also available)

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Occupational Therapy
• Massachusetts License as an Occupational Therapist
• National Certification in Occupational Therapy
• School-based or pediatric experience preferred
