Position: Middle School Ice Hockey Head Coach
Location: Newton Country Day School, Newton, MA
Season: Winter 2025-2026 (Early November – Mid February)
Stipend: $3,500-$5,000

Position Summary
Newton Country Day School seeks a supportive and enthusiastic Middle School Ice Hockey Coach for the winter 2025–2026 season. The coach will lead student-athletes through a developmental experience that emphasizes foundational skills, teamwork, confidence, and fun—all within a values-based and mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead practices and games with a focus on fundamental skill development, safety, and sportsmanship.
• Encourage a love of the game while helping students grow in confidence, character, and teamwork.
• Provide positive mentorship to student-athletes of varying skill levels.
• Communicate clearly with student-athletes, families, and the Athletics Department.
• Be willing and able to drive school vehicles for practices and competitions.
• Uphold the values of Sacred Heart education and model the mission of Falcon Athletics.
• Complete other duties as requested by the Director of Athletics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Playing or coaching experience in ice hockey (youth, high school, or higher).
• A genuine passion for developing middle school girls through sport.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a supportive team environment.
• CPR/First Aid and SafeSport certifications (or willingness to complete prior to the season).
• CORI background check and fingerprinting required.
