About the position: Shady Hill School is seeking a Middle School Track and Field coach for the 2026 spring season. The season begins with pre-practices on March 5, 2026, and concludes on May 21, 2026. Practices are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 3:15–5:00 PM. Meets may be scheduled on Tuesdays and/or Fridays. Coaches must be available at 2:20 PM to travel with the team on competition days.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with co-coaches to plan and conduct effective practices and prepare for meets
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive team environment where all student-athletes feel respected and valued
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with student-athletes, families, and colleagues to ensure alignment and support
  • Write thoughtful and constructive end-of-season report comments for each student-athlete, reflecting their growth, contributions, and goals for continued development

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience at the youth or high school level preferred
  • Enthusiastic about working with middle school students
  • Patient, encouraging, and committed to fostering confidence, resilience, and a love of learning through sport
  • Committed to building and maintaining a positive team culture

This is a stipend-paid, seasonal position. The pay for this position is $2,542.12 for the season.
