Middle School Science Teacher: Grade 6

Begins August 2025

The Wheeler School, a co-ed, N-12 independent day school with city and farm campuses serving approximately 800 students in the Greater Providence and Greater Boston areas, is seeking a Science Teacher to join our Middle School.

Ideal candidates for faculty and staff positions at Wheeler are people with a sense of humor, warmth, and humility. They are excellent communicators, with empathy for others and an ability to listen and respond with good intuition and with the help of colleagues. They are ambitious and hard-working, committed to supporting students by offering help and creating new opportunities. We are looking for candidates who are able to teach Middle School Science beginning in August 2025, including earth science, physical science, chemistry, and biology. This position also teaches one section of middle school math or academic support. Successful candidates will possess a strong background in science and teaching, a deep commitment to the experience of the student, an interest in innovation, an ability to teach a range of learners, and strong collaborative skills. The position also involves serving as an advisor to sixth graders, collaborating with a team of teachers on extracurricular programming, and providing faculty support in a club or activity. As a teacher at Wheeler you will become part of a dynamic and passionate faculty and work with talented and engaged students every day. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
