Andover School of Montessori, located in Andover, MA, is seeking a substitute to cover maternity leave for the middle school Science/STEM/Math teacher. This position runs from August 21, 2023 through December 18, 2023. This is an ideal opportunity to work with adolescents in a small class-size setting. The candidate should have a solid understanding of pre-algebra and science topics that cover the introduction to chemistry and cells taught at the middle school level. The person will cover Science, STEM and math classes and help run the middle school with a co-teacher. The substitute will work with the current teacher for 2 weeks as a way to get to know the students, curriculum, and classroom routines. The substitute will also accompany the middle school students and Humanities teacher on a four day, overnight, environmental camp in September. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and communicate with parents effectively is desirable.
