Middle School Science Faculty
The Meadowbrook School of Weston, Weston, MA
The Meadowbrook School of Weston, a pre-kindergarten through 8th grade school located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston, is seeking a middle school science educator to fulfill a parental leave faculty position from January through Mid-May 2022.
Our middle school science program includes three courses: life science (grade 6), physical science (grade 7), and environmental science (grade 8). This specific position will be responsible for teaching two sections of grade environmental science and one section of physical science.
A successful candidate will be a science educator who values inquiry, project-based learning, and collaboration amongst students and faculty. This is an exciting time for Meadowbrook’s science program. We have two new middle school science classrooms and opened an innovation center and makerspace in the fall of 2017 which are used extensively by science classes as a part of the department’s long-standing engagement with project-based learning and design thinking. The department also leverages Meadowbrook’s 30-acre campus as an outdoor classroom.
We seek a candidate who believes the middle school years are essential and who wholeheartedly desires to teach, advise, and learn from middle school students. At Meadowbrook, smart, passionate people join together in an expansive learning environment with rigorous academics and innovative curricula to inspire, challenge, and empower students to achieve at the highest level, connect deeply with a diverse community, and courageously create change. Stipended coaching opportunities may also be available for those with coaching experience.
We strongly encourage applications from people of color, LGBTQ educators, or educators from communities that are historically underrepresented in independent schools. We are committed to an inclusive school experience for all those who come to work at Meadowbrook.
