Noble and Greenough School, Dedham, MA

Founded in 1866, Noble and Greenough School is a non-sectarian, rigorous academic community dedicated to student growth and self-discovery. Nobles inspires students to achieve their highest potential and to lead lives characterized by service to others. One of Nobles’ deepest values is “relationship before task”: we believe that excellence is built on community and connection. Nobles is committed to creating a learning environment that represents diversity of race, gender identities, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin, background, experience, and perspective. Doing so is intrinsic to our mission and improves the educational experience for all.

Nobles seeks an experienced teacher of History and Social Sciences to begin in late August 2024.  The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, a minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience, and be committed to ongoing growth in their classroom practice and curricular development.  A Bachelor’s degree is required. Strong background in US Government and/or World Geography is preferred as well as experience and interest in working with middle school (grades 7-8) learners. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic department and a close-knit middle school division whose members are passionate about ideas, teaching practices, and developing positive student-teacher relationships. The Noble and Greenough School looks for multifaceted educators who are eager to contribute significantly to the life of the school in at least one non-academic area (for example, athletics, community service, admissions, or performing arts) outside of their teaching.

People of color, people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, religious minorities, and members of other historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.  To apply, please complete the online application on The Noble and Greenough School website, and include your resume and letter of interest addressed to the Head of the Upper School, Alison Easterling (alison_easterling@nobles.edu). Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. To learn more about Nobles benefits, please click here: 2023-2024 Employee Benefits Summary.
