Beaver Country Day School is an independent day school serving 460 students in grades 6-12, and located in Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston. Founded in 1920 and propelled by our progressive roots, our goal is to expand the nature of school. Key Functions and Responsibilities:

Provide after school supervision for middle school students for 10 hours per week (3:45pm-5:45pm M-F). Responsibilities may include but are not limited to managing attendance, daily check ins with students, reviewing class material, brainstorming ideas for papers, checking students’ work, and helping students organize their materials, proofread papers, prepare for assessments, management and distribution of snacks, and explore effective study habits. This after school program may have different configurations of students with different needs depending on the day, therefore strong behavior management skills and the ability to hold students accountable for using the time effectively and appropriately are the main components of the role. This is an exciting, part-time role with a strong emphasis in presence and connection with students who have to be on campus after dismissal.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with adolescents
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated understanding of independent schools, their unique culture, and opportunities and challenges
