Math Teacher – Multivariable Calculus

Boston University Academy is seeking a teacher to lead three sections of high school Multivariable Calculus to fill a sabbatical replacement position for the spring semester (January-June 2022). This is a three-quarters-time position. Duties include classroom teaching, providing extra help outside of class, parent communication, grading, and comment writing.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in math, math education, or a related field; Master’s Degree or higher preferred
  • 3+ years of experience teaching math, preferably at a high school level; college teaching experience will also be considered
  • Experience working with high-school students and a passion for supporting students at this level
  • A student-centered orientation
  • Deep content knowledge and a passion for the material

The candidate will join a five-person department committed to inquiry-based approaches and student-centered teaching and learning math.

Experience in or knowledge of independent schools is a plus.
