The Nantucket New School is a PK-8 independent school that values academic and personal growth while respecting the pace of childhood. We are seeking a Lower School Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Support LS teachers and students
• Instruct core curriculum
• Lead reading and math pull-out groups
• Supervise recess and lunch
• Promote a culture of inclusion, support, and sensitivity 
• Provide planning and execution of appropriate projects
• Ensure adequate nurturing of child’s developmental tasks

Qualifications and Skills

• Some experience with appropriate age group
• Able to communicate effectively 
• Demonstrated ability to practice effective time management, organizational skills, priority management and analytical ability
• Good role model
• Sound personal judgment, initiative and resourcefulness
