Position Summary
As a Lower School Classroom Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for students. You will plan and deliver instructional lessons that align with the curriculum, assess student progress, communicate with parents/guardians, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the academic and socio-emotional development of each student.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the educational needs of upper elementary aged students.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, and use data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, academic performance, and behavioral incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to coordinate instruction, share best practices, and promote a positive school culture.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices.
  • Adhere to school policies, procedures, and expectations, including those related to classroom management, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching license or certification appropriate for the grade level and subject area preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching at the elementary level.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, educational theory, and best practices in instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction and classroom management.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
