We are seeking a full-time woodshop teacher to join our robust and integrated visual arts program. The teaching responsibilities include a K-4 woodshop curriculum as well as a middle school woodshop school woodshop/making program. The successful candidate will have experience teaching both elementary and middle-school aged children. They will be able to support students where they are and differentiate between a wide range of proficiencies. This position is responsible for the safety procedures, supply, maintenance, and management of the woodshop. In addition to the traditional woodshop, this teacher will also have access to a fully equipped maker lab. The position includes regular attention to visual art displays around the school. In addition to the core teaching responsibilities, Moses Brown teachers are expected to serve on committees, attend school meetings, and have yearly co-curricular responsibilities.

A desire to work in a team-based collaborative environment is essential. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with lower and middle school students, faculty, and parents. The candidate will create curricular units to instill a love for creativity, exploration, and excitement for the arts.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution. Elementary or middle school teaching experience is preferred, although not a requirement for application. A Master’s degree or a teaching credential is desirable.
