
Lead Teacher – Early Childhood Program

Do you enjoy teaching young learners and have the energy, passion, and creativity to engage with curious and enthusiastic toddlers?
We are looking for an experienced, flexible, and nurturing Lead Teacher to join our Early Childhood Program, which serves children aged 21 months to 4 years. This individual would play a key role in fostering a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment, with opportunities for growth into a leadership position within our Early Childhood team. The Early Toddler and Beginners Programs at Sage emphasize sensory-rich, play-based, and hands-on learning experiences to nurture foundational skills and foster a love of exploration.
The Sage School is a Pre-K through Grade 8 school enrolling 160 students in Foxboro, MA. Responsibilities will include
- Designing and implementing age-appropriate, play-based curriculum and activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Leading classroom routines and transitions in a warm, structured, and engaging manner.
- Observing and documenting children’s developmental milestones to tailor instruction and provide individualized support.
- Collaborating with parents to share progress and insights about their child’s learning and development.
- Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Upholding health and safety standards, including diapering, potty training, and managing mealtime routines.
- Participating in the development and enhancement of the Early Toddler Program curriculum and co-curriculum.
- Staying informed about best practices and trends in early childhood education through ongoing professional development.
- Assisting children in developing foundational social and emotional skills, fostering independence, and encouraging curiosity.
- Actively participating in the school community by attending events, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to a positive and inclusive culture.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or a related field required.
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching or working with toddlers and young children in a licensed childcare or early learning setting preferred.
- Familiarity with play-based and sensory learning approaches.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- A warm, patient, and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for working with young children.
