Berwick Academy, a PK-PG co educational day school located in southern Maine seeks a Lead Kindergarten Teacher to join its Lower School. Berwick’s Kindergarten program is based on the whole child philosophy of creating a respectful and responsible learning community through exploration and discovery, involving meaningful social-emotional interactions, core academic readiness experiences and meaningful connections with a blend of special subjects.  Central to the typical Kindergarten classroom experience is project-based learning and collaborative team-teaching with the assistant kindergarten teacher. Qualified candidates will have a passion for and experiences with Early Childhood Education (including outdoor education), an eagerness to be part of a team-teaching experience, the ability to foster positive relationships with students and their families, and an interest in collaborating with Lower School through Upper School colleagues. Strong communication and writing skills are also qualities of a successful candidate. This position begins in the 2023-24 academic year.
