Ursuline Academy, an independent Catholic school for girls in grades 7–12 located in Dedham, MA, is seeking a Latin Teacher to cover a family leave from approximately April through June 2026 (10-12 weeks). The position includes teaching middle and high school Latin and supporting end-of-year departmental responsibilities. Flexibility, optimism, a collaborative and professional spirit, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to Catholic education are essential.

Candidates should

• have an understanding of teaching highly capable adolescent girls
• be able to utilize technology effectively
• teach using a variety of instructional strategies
• respectfully communicate with parents and appropriate school personnel to share student growth.

Duties:

• Teach Latin courses across grades 7–12, from introductory through advanced levels
• Deliver instruction aligned with existing curriculum and departmental goals
• Maintain academic continuity in grammar, translation, and cultural content
• Support end-of-year responsibilities, including:
• Administering and grading final exams
• Participating in placement exams for incoming students
• Attending relevant meetings or field trips, if applicable
• Completing student feedback and grade reporting

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Classics, Latin, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
• Experience teaching Latin, preferably in grades 7–12
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to Ursuline Academy’s mission as a Catholic, all-girls school
