K-6 Art Teacher (Fall, 2023)

Shrewsbury Montessori School seeks an engaging and enthusiastic Art teacher for Kindergarten through 6^th Grade for the 2023-2024 school year. This part-time position is based at our Shrewsbury campus and attendance at occasional evening school events and after school staff meetings is also required.

An ideal candidate:

• possesses a passion for visual culture and can inspire children to be empathic and curious artists as they investigate the world around them
• possesses confidence in working with a range of 2 and 3 dimensional mediums and can prepare and deliver dynamic and stimulating lessons to increase students’ awareness and understanding of many art mediums
• can design and implement child-centered, culturally responsive art curriculum assessments guided by the National Art Education Association standards to enhance fundamental art skills for students in Kindergarten through 6^th grade
• can implement age-appropriate lessons that introduce students to diverse and multicultural aspects of art
• pocesses strong communication skills with children, colleagues and parents
• has a sense of humor

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Montessori experience (preferred)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
