ABOUT THE POSITION:
Gann Academy seeks candidates for a full-time, in-person position for the 2023-2024 school year teaching Jewish Studies. Successful candidates will have a passion for Jewish Studies, a strong background in classroom teaching, curriculum design, and pedagogy, and a commitment to collaborating, reflecting, and growing in their teaching practice. Personal qualities such as creativity, curiosity, perseverance, and flexibility are desirable, as are practical communication skills with students and families. Candidates will be able to connect well with teenagers, serve as role models of engaged and inspired Jewish living, and facilitate students’ development of their Jewish identities. Candidates should enjoy working in a pluralistic Jewish setting and engaging students from all Jewish backgrounds.
This is an in-person, full-time position starting in August 2023 and will report to the Director of Jewish Education. The salary range is between $50,000 and $90,000 annually, commensurate with relevant work experience and qualifications.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Master’s degree, rabbinical ordination, or Ph.D. in Jewish Studies preferred
Comfortable teaching a broad range of subjects, including Jewish thought, ethics, and history, as well as Tanakh and rabbinic literature, ideally in the original language
Interest in teaching Modern Hebrew and Jewish Arts is a plus
Strong organizational skills
A commitment to student-centered, mastery-based teaching
Must be proficient in English to carry out work as assigned

Physical demands include dexterity for office machine/supply operation, including but not limited to computers, telephones, copy machines, and printers. Sitting or standing for extended periods is common.
