Instructor in Studio Art

Faculty / Full-Time

Phillips Academy, Andover, MA

Phillips Academy seeks a full-time, continuing Instructor in Studio Art to begin in September of 2022. Strong candidates will be practicing artist-educators who have demonstrated skill and experience teaching high-school students in both studio foundations and graphic design, as well as experience with interdisciplinary visual-arts teaching and inclusive classroom practices. The specific teaching assignment will consist of three or four class sections per trimester, most likely with two or three preparations. All instructors in the department teach Visual Studies, our ninth-grade foundations course. We seek dynamic candidates who will be active participants not only in the academic program but also in the athletics/fitness and residential programs at this boarding school. A Master’s degree or higher in fine arts and/or arts education and at least three years of high-school teaching experience are preferred.
