The White Mountain School seeks a full-time Innovation Lab Manager and Robotics and Engineering teacher to begin duties on August 1, 2023.

How might we inspire students to increase what they see as possible within themselves? How might we care for and educate the whole student? You love challenges, thrive in collaborative environments, and balance the gravity and joy of working in a boarding school. You seek a deeply relational and intentionally small community where you will be encouraged and supported to bring your full self to all aspects of your work. 

You also are able to teach a range of Applied Engineering and Robotics courses, and are interested in exploring ways to: 

  • Teach a range of introductory and advanced classes 
  • Support teachers of other subjects in using the Inquiry, Innovation, and Impact (I^3) Lab
  • Incorporate a project-based approach to designing learning experiences 
  • Incorporate tinkering, play and investigations into the STEM classroom 
  • Effectively and appropriately use technology to drive learning 
  • Put the study of engineering and robotics both in historical and social context.


  • Teach a variety of courses in the I^3 Lab
  • Manage the I^3 Lab – support and collaborate with teachers; supervise and train students; empower student leadership 
  • Coach or lead one or two of three seasons of co-curricular activities, including one season coaching the Robotics team 
  • Advise 5-6 students 
  • Supervise one night of dorm duty per week and one weekend of dorm duty per five weeks, or equivalent 
  • Teach two week-long Field Courses (immersive, place-based learning)
  • Room and board are provided
