SCIENCE TEACHER

The White Mountain School seeks a full-time Science teacher to begin duties on August 1, 2023.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a college degree in a STEM field
• Be able to teach a range of science offerings
• Put the study of science both in historical and social context
• Have a sense of humor and a high degree of flexibility

WHAT WOULD YOU DO? 

• Teach a variety of courses in sciences, possibly including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and/or electives depending on background, interest, and experience
• Coach or lead two of three seasons of co-curricular activities
• Advise 5-6 students 
• Supervise one night of dorm duty per week and one weekend of dorm duty per five weeks, or equivalent 
• Teach two week-long Field Courses (immersive, place-based learning)
• Room and board are provided

Purpose: Founded in 1886 and set in the beautiful White Mountains of northern New Hampshire, The White Mountain School is a gender-inclusive, college-preparatory boarding and day school for 120 students grades 9-12/PG. Our purpose remains true to the original focus of New England boarding schools: the development of mind, body, and spirit.
