
Facilities Staff

JOB SUMMARY
This role will be responsible for general maintenance, service, repairs, and operations of campus buildings and grounds of Ursuline’s campus. Working with the Director of Facilities, a member of the Facilities Staff works to ensure daily tasks are accomplished in a timely and safe manner. The ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude, excellent customer service skills, and a willingness to be part of a team. The Facilities Staff must exhibit understanding and support of Ursuline Academy’s mission and the goals of the Facilities team and those set forth by the Director of Facilities. The schedule for this role is 7am – 3pm, Monday through Friday with additional night and weekend hours to support events and on-call snow removal. Hours may change based on the needs of the academy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Custodial
- Perform daily cleaning, sanitation, custodial, trash, and recycling in assigned buildings
- Identify janitorial supplies, equipment, and machinery required to perform the job
Grounds
- General grounds maintenance and care, including mowing, raking, replanting, and watering
- Snow removal, as required – including on-call hours for snow storms
- Conducting basic irrigation audits and performing basic irrigation repairs
- Repairs to various grounds as necessary
Event Support
- Provide support for campus events (e.g., setups and takedowns); overtime may be required to support events – nights / weekends
- Occasionally provide traffic and parking control
General
- Maintains “eyes on the campus,” surveying and identifying needs and opportunities to repair, improve, and make safe.
- Communicate regularly with the Director on the status of projects and identified needs etc.
- Ability to manage daily tasks as scheduled by the work order system or Director of Facilities
- Perform daily tasks, including door checks and space walkthroughs
- Maintain thorough knowledge of and monitor proper equipment use
- Ability to operate various facilities systems (e.g., HVAC)
- Ability to paint and perform basic carpentry tasks
- Monitor and work with vendors, repairmen, or suppliers at the direction of the Director of Facilities
- Respond quickly to emergency problems on campus
- Attend all staff meetings, in-service events, and training; attend off-site training as needed
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external constituencies
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities or other members of the Administration
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work 7am – 3pm, Monday through Friday – OT Hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in schools, independent schools, or higher education settings is a plus.
- Professional or trade licensure is a plus
Other Qualifications:
