Jackson Walnut Park School seeks a full-time Director of Walnut Park Montessori for the 2025-2026 school year. The Director is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all aspects of the school’s authentic Montessori early childhood program. The Director works closely with the Head of Jackson Walnut Park School and the JWP Board of Trustees to provide leadership and implement initiatives throughout the school. She/he collaborates with key constituents—Walnut Park Montessori faculty and staff, JWP leadership team, Parent School Association (PSA), Board of Trustees and Corporate Offices of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston (CSJ)—to facilitate the smooth operation and appropriate oversight of the school.
Broad responsibilities include:
Walnut Park Montessori:
- Plan, organize and administer all components of Walnut Park Montessori , including:
- Work with faculty and staff to ensure the coordinated and smooth operation of the division
- Conduct formal classroom observations and generate regular performance reviews for faculty and staff.
- Supervise Director of Kids’ Corner
- Communicate with families
- Attend monthly Parent School Association (PSA) Meetings and coordinate with PSA and school
- Implement professional development and parent education events
Jackson Walnut Park School:
- Collaborate with school administrators to support admissions, enrollment management, advancement, marketing and communications efforts.
- Collaborate with Head Custodian to ensure that safety standards are met and building certificates are current.
Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston (CSJ):
- Participate in setting annual budget and collaborate with CSJ Finance Department on check requisitions, bill coding, reimbursements, budget review
- Work with the Office for Sponsored Ministries to ensure Mission Integration.
- Collaborate with CSJ Human Resource Department.
JWP Board of Trustees:
- Attend Board meetings and select Board Committee meetings. Prepare and present reports on all aspects of Walnut Park Montessori
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant master’s degree and must be a certified Montessorian by a MACTE accredited training center. She/he will have at least five years’ experience in a Montessori setting, with strong preference for administrative experience as well. Candidates must present well, enjoy working with all constituents of a school community, and be able to handle the many daily and annual responsibilities associated with school leadership. Strong communication skills—both spoken and in writing—are essential for success in this role.
