Summer@Carroll is a successful five-week summer school program for students entering grades 1-9 who have been diagnosed with a language-based learning difference, such as dyslexia. Students participate in academic classes and recreational programming each day. The program is in high demand and has a substantial waitlist each year.

Position Summary:

Carroll School is currently seeking a Director of Summer@Carroll for a 10-month position, November through August, who is responsible for overseeing the entire S@C summer school program housed in the Lincoln and Waltham campuses. This role reports to the Chief Enrollment and Financial Assistance Officer. 


  • Plan and execute academic and enrichment programming
  • Work with CS senior leadership to define a larger, more expansive vision for the future 
  • Lead recruitment and hiring efforts for all academic and enrichment staff
  • Oversee and supervise 100+ employees 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to ensure excellent familial customer care
  • Market the program to outside schools, prospective and enrolled families, and prospective employees
  • Collaborate with Carroll School departments, including Admissions, Information Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Health and Safety team, and Facilities, in advance of and during the program
  • Partner with the S@C senior team to provide the highest-level leadership for the program
  • Work with Carroll School academic leadership to align S@C and CS programming
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Chief Enrollment and Financial Aid Officer (and other senior CS leaders as necessary) 
  • Develop and track program revenue and expenditures


  • Experience in curriculum and education is strongly preferred
  • Experience in camp programs is preferred
  • Excellent organizational, technological, and interpersonal skills are a must 
  • Strong written communication skills are essential
  • Passion for the mission of the school and special education programming
  • Genuine love of managing people, coaching and mentoring, and customer service
  • Enthusiasm for camps, enrichment programming, and community/culture building
