St. Sebastian’s School is a vibrant, Catholic independent school serving 375 boys in grades 7-12, in the MetroWest suburbs of Boston. As a thriving school, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Operations to join our leadership team. In this critical role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our school, ensuring a safe, secure, and well-functioning environment that supports academic excellence and a thriving school community.


  • Lead and manage a team of facilities, IT and security staff, including maintenance personnel.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities maintenance plan, ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of all school buildings and grounds.
  • Oversee the implementation, integration, and ongoing management of the school’s technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Manage campus security protocols and procedures, working collaboratively with local law enforcement as needed.
  • Develop a high-performing operations team with complementary skill sets to ensure redundancy in critical systems and duties.
  • Manage logistics for all school operations, including technology infrastructure, and supplies.
  • Oversee the campus preparedness and staffing for all school events, both large and small.
  • Develop and manage the facilities operating and capital budgets related to campus operations and plant upkeep and replacement, identifying and implementing cost-saving solutions.
  • Lead and oversee capital improvement projects and renovations on campus facilities.
  • Serve as a key liaison with vendors and service providers.
  • Develop and implement a system for managing and maintaining the schools’ vehicle fleet and equipment inventory, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maximizing efficiency.
  • Oversee operations and regular maintenance requirements of our hockey rink and several neighboring rental properties owned by the school.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to the school’s mission in a faith-based work environment.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a school or similar environment.
  • Proven track record of success in facilities management, budgeting, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of safety and security protocols in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
