Maple Street expects all employees to abide by and support this policy without reservation.Maple Street School is currently seeking a Director of Development to oversee our donor relations program and manage our fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our fundraising campaigns, both annual fund and capital campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, and building a strong culture of philanthropy within our organization. In addition, the Director of Development will work closely with the Head of School and the Board of Trustees to ensure there is adequate funding for annual programming and operating expenses, and long-term capital projects.  This position involves managing individual and corporate gifts as well as planned giving. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Working closely with the Head of School in all matters related to fundraising, communications, and donor stewardship. 
  • Maintaining and managing the Development calendar and ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner on a month by month basis.
  • Develop and oversee the annual fundraising program from developing a theme for the year, creating an appeal letter, managing the mailing list by constituent group, and execute a timely mailing of the appeal.
  • Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships.
  • Research and apply for grants appropriate to the success of Maple Street School.
  • Build relationships with the families of Maple Street School and encourage full participation in the financial support of the school. 
  • Maintain ongoing communications with the Maple Street School community, private and corporate donors.
  • Manage all aspects of a donor relations program.
  • Develop and print marketing collateral related to fundraising in collaboration with the Head of School.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgement and thank you letters for gifts.
  • Develop accurate and timely reports on fundraising progress throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions. 

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Proven track record of reaching fundraising goals
  • Familiarity with fundraising software
  • Proficiency and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Competency with all social media platforms
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
