The Director of Admissions begins the Gould experience for prospective students and families and weaves together the vital elements of the admissions cycle and financial aid process. This critical position requires someone who is an excellent and inclusive communicator and relation- ship builder; someone who values the Gould mission and is connected to the stories and experiences of our students, programs, and school.

Staffed with a talented team of 4 individuals, the director draws on a variety of strengths from data-minded decision making to meeting enrollment targets to collaborative recruitment efforts.

The admissions director leads with a collaborative and systemic approach for:

THE POSITION:

Director of Admissions Scope of Work

The Director of Admissions reports to the Head of School, and works closely with the leadership team and faculty. The position also includes community life weekend and evening duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan for prospective students and their families
  • Responsible for the school’s efforts to attract and enroll a diverse and dynamic student population from domestic and international markets
  • Design and manage admissions events, such as informational sessions, interview days, campus tours, fairs, feeder school visits, and open houses
  • Utilize data to make decisions about recruitment strategy, resource use, and planning efforts
  • Provide hands-on leadership in the review, processing, and monitoring of student applications.
  • Lead the office in the on-boarding of new families to Gould
  • Partner with the CFO on setting enrollment and net rev- enues goals
  • Assist in establishing policies and criteria for financial aid awards
  • Participate in retention programs and assist with the re-enrollment process
  • Serve as a model of Gould’s core values and positively engage with community stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in admis-sions with supervisory experience, at a

    secondary or higher education institution

  • Must be self-motivated and have strong decision-making skills, with the ability towork both independently and with a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience with marketing and graphicdesign preferred
  • Working knowledge of database software,preferably Blackbaud
  • Strong alignment with the mission andvalues of Gould
